More!

The Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum is a 501(c) 3 non profit organization depending on admissions, gift store sales, grants and memberships to continue our efforts to tell the great story of Alaska Aviation. The museum has made tremendous strides throughout the past several years in our efforts to modernize our exhibits and facilities. Our goal is to continue to create a world class visitor attraction which preserves and shares the story of Alaska’s rich aviation history. If you haven’t had a chance to visit the museum lately, we strongly encourage you to stop by. The romance and adventure of Alaska’s aviation heritage fills the air in our five hangers and our outdoor exhibit areas.

DONATIONS & GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

The Alaska Aviation Museum will gratefully accept a wide range of giving opportunities. Your donation supports the Museum’s mission to preserve and display Alaska aviation history. There are many ways to give, including donating online right now! If you would like to donate in a more specific nature, read on below for more ways to give.

Corporate Sponsorship

There are many ways that businesses can get involved and support the museum. Corporate sponsors can choose to support the general fund at the museum, a specific exhibit or restoration project, an annual fundraiser, or become corporate members. For more details, contact development@alaskaairmuseum.org.

Attend a Fundraiser

The museum puts on multiple fundraisers through out the year to help the museum continue to grow and improve. Purchase a ticket and come join the museum for some festivities! Our Events page has details about upcoming events and how to purchase tickets.

General Fund Donation

A donation here will go to keeping our lights on, heat on, and staff paid. Funding our operational expenses is very important, otherwise we wouldn’t be here! All donations are greatly appreciated, and can be made online at our Member Portal.

Material Donations

The museum may accept gifts in the form of material property that can either be added to the museum’s collection or be resold to support the museum. All gifts are subject to review and approval by the museum. The Museum does not accept ‘drop-offs’, and all donations given without approval are subject to sale or destruction. If interested in donating please contact the Curator at curator@alaskaairmuseum.org.

Planned Giving

Consider the Alaska Aviation Museum in your estate planning. Through requests, beneficiary designation, and charitable remainder trusts, it is easy to mark your legacy at the Museum. Planned and legacy gifts will serve to ensure the future vitality of the Museum and its programs. If interested in getting more information about this or speaking to someone at the museum about this please contact the Executive Director at director@alaskaairmuseum.org.

Memorial Gifts

Memorial gifts express your sympathy or remember a loved one. A Memorial Gift is an especially meaningful way to recognize friends, family, business associates, and special occasions, while at the same time supporting the continuing development of the aviation museum. The museum tries to recognize those in aviation or who support aviation who recently passed both on our memorials page as well as in the museum in our memorial display. For more details, please contact us at development@alaskaairmuseum.org.

Volunteer Opportunities

As a small nonprofit, the museum relies on the dedication of volunteers to carry out its mission, to provide visitors the best museum experience, to grow and to improve the museum in scope. The six general areas volunteers help out include Aircraft Restoration & Hangar Work, Facilities & Special Events, Education, Archives & Collections, Docents & Tour Guides, and Youth Volunteers.

The Alaska Aviation Museum now accepts applications for youth volunteers, ages 13-18. Teenagers with an interest in aviation, in computing, in gaming (or all of the above) serve as docents for the museum’s virtual reality simulators. Youth volunteers show visitors how to operate the VR sims, perform limited troubleshooting, and continually “fly” the sims, keeping the monitor screens active to attract interest.

If you are interested in helping out at the museum, please call Mark Ransom at 907.248.5325 or email info@alaskaairmuseum.org.
